DAMIR DOMA SS12 X DOVER STREET MARKET

A special project featuring: DAMIR DOMA SPRING SUMMER 2012 at DOVER STREET MARKET, LONDON

Friday 24th February – 24th March, 2012

Dover Street Market (an initiative of Comme des Garçons) have invited DAMIR DOMA to express the mood of the women’s and men’s collections in a custom installation, in partnership with the Parisian design and production studio Diplomates.

The result is a series of massive stalactite formations, re-cut and re- assembled from the 2,400 metros of hand-burned wooden stakes crafted by Diplomates for the DAMIR DOMA “Into Rooms of Light” menswear and “As Time Fades” womenswear shows for Spring Summer 2012 in Paris.

The expansive street-level window display of Dover Street Market will host this impressive structure, which expresses both a living mineral and architectural gesture in this cosmopolitan retail and exhibition space. In addition, mannequins wearing pale linen and bright golden garments by DAMIR DOMA will be positioned to contrast and complement the flowing lines of the blackened wood forms.

› "SET-UP - PROTO a / RADIOTOPO"

INSTALLATION

In collaboration with CIGUË and TAL HADAD

"SET-UP - PROTO a / RADIOTOPO" is a mobile radio studio, a temporary territory, designed to accommodate the social event, artistic and discursive. It consists of a micro-studio recording and broadcast, a chat room and a bar. Modular and mobile, RADIO TOPO takes the form of a solid monolith and "opaque", concealing and preserving its internal activity and radio attention outside, but can also, with sandstone programs and disassemble to open its walls to become a scene and a "camp" on exacerbated conviviality worthy of a festival. The studio and its equipment moves between Bétonsalon for the production and distribution of its podcasts and a live broadcast amplified on the esplanade Pierre Vidal Naquet.
